Last week: 634 districts improved, 94 got worse. Delhi ten of eleven up. Telangana twenty-six of thirty-three.
Part 1 → Two nutrition numbers · Part 2 → 132 districts · Part 3 → 634 down. 94 up.
This week: forget the slope. Who holds the list now.
August 2026. Same 132 very-high-risk districts as Part 2.
Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Tripura:
- 125 districts of 787 in the file. Sixteen percent of India-on-the-dashboard.
- 68 of 132 very-high-risk names. Fifty-two percent.
They are not “a few tribal blocks.” They are the pile.
The four
Madhya Pradesh. 55 districts. 38 very high risk. 16 high. 54 of 55 high or very high. Average score 22.
That is 29% of all very-high-risk India, in one state. More than Bihar, Jharkhand and Gujarat put together.
Tripura. Eight districts. Six very high. Two high. Eight of eight. A small state can be 100% of itself and vanish inside a national average.
Jharkhand. 24 districts. 12 very high. 11 high. 96% of the state in the two top bands. West Singhbhum still the worst named row in the country.
Bihar. 38 districts. 12 very high. 23 high. 92% high or very high.
The floor
Tamil Nadu. 38 districts. Zero high. Zero very high. Average 4.4.
Punjab, Haryana, Himachal, J&K, Goa, Sikkim, Andaman, Ladakh, Chandigarh: the same empty column.
The dashboard knows how to record a low-burden state. So 98% high-or-very-high in Madhya Pradesh is not “the app paints everything red.”
Do not convert Tamil Nadu’s 4.4 into an NFHS 4%. Part 1: prevalence is the survey. This is what the machine wrote. The contrast is still the point: the file can be quiet, and it can be a siren, in the same month.
A falling average does not empty the pile
Madhya Pradesh’s district score fell about eight points since 2023. Bihar six. Jharkhand two. They improved. They still are last week’s map.
Gujarat fell fifteen points and has two names on the 132. Telangana rose and has six.
A note that “India is improving on Poshan Tracker” can be true in Part 3 and fail this part.
The operational question is not a national vibe. It is: in the month the site calls current, are 38 districts in Madhya Pradesh still in the band we named very high risk? Yes.
This week’s only job
Count. Four states. Half the red.
Not a claim that children in Tamil Nadu are fine. The survey still exists. Not a Burhanpur essay. The count that essay could not make.
Next — Part 5: Wasting has no season . Last of the national run: the indicator that should keep a season. The one the survey still puts near 19%, and the dashboard near 3%.
Data: Part 4 of 5. Poshan Tracker, August 2026. Very high risk as in Part 2. Gujarat’s district count in the raw dashboard includes an empty id; it does not change the four-state arithmetic. Also on LinkedIn.
